Ibanez Forum Nic
No major imperfections as such, but there was a tiny bit of the shielding tape poking out from under the pickguard. This was no problem to fix, it just wasn't cut as cleanly as it should have been.
Prestige fret finishing would have been nice, but actually I cannot feel any sharp edges while playing. The neck is great. I measured it, and it is even thinner than my original Wizard, yet due to the titanium reinforcement, it's stronger and stiffer.
The case is a little on the cheap side. It doesn't stay open and the latches don't line up too well, but it does it's job. Regardless, this guitar is worth the money, and after a minor setup it plays and feels better than pretty much every Ibanez I've played. I lowered the action, adjusted the trem springs slightly, and removed the shims from underneath the lock nut. The action is now fast as lightning. I love this guitar.
Any mods will be reversible. I might change the pickups and the 5-way switch some day.
Huge thanks to Rich Harris from IbanezRules.com for taking care of me throughout the whole process of buying and waiting for these guitars to be released. I fully recommend his amazing services.
Not much more to say right now except it's every bit as good as the original, and then some more! Awesome guitar. The RG550 is a classic and this is a beautiful tribute to it. The ultimate RG550.
I am proud to have submitted the first UK registration and be probably the first UK owner.

Lastly, this guitar arrived on the same day as I bought my original 1987 550RF! How cool is that! :)
